How Fibox Integrates ESG to Build a Sustainable Future Through Quality

At Fibox, quality has always been the foundation of everything we do. For us, it is more than
meeting technical specifications or ensuring reliable products. It is about creating processes that
drive innovation, support sustainability, and build lasting trust with our customers and
stakeholders. As expectations around ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) continue to
rise, we believe that high-quality processes and responsible operations must go hand in hand.

Leading this effort is Jukka Isotalo, our Director of Global Quality and New Product Introduction.
Having spent seven years at Fibox, Jukka started as Quality Manager in our Lempäälä factory
before taking on responsibility for developing global processes across our factories. Today, he
plays a key role in unifying quality and ESG, ensuring our factories learn from each other and
operate as one integrated network.

Integrating Quality and ESG into Every Process

Quality at Fibox has never been the responsibility of one department, but instead it is embedded
into every process, from product design and material selection to production and logistics. By
integrating ESG principles directly into our quality management system, we ensure that
sustainability is considered at every stage of decision-making. This means our processes are not
only designed to deliver durable, high-performing products, but also to minimise environmental
impact and support long-term business success.

“The biggest similarity with ESG and quality is that it is not the responsibility of one department,
but of all of us and all of our processes. For me, it's important to implement ESG into our standard
operations so that we not only meet customer needs profitably today, but also build long-term
sustainability for the future," Isotalo explains

This approach is visible across our operations. In production, we focus on reducing waste and
improving energy efficiency by refining our manufacturing methods and investing in modern,
low-energy equipment. At our Guangzhou, China factory, we have already transitioned to 100%
green energy, resulting in up to 20% total reduction in CO2 emissions. Across all facilities, we track
and analyse energy consumption, enabling us to identify opportunities for improvement and
implement more sustainable practices. These efforts ensure we meet customer expectations
while also fulfilling our environmental responsibilities.

Creating Transparency and Driving Change

Reliable, transparent data is at the core of our ESG approach. By improving the quality of the data
we collect, we can better measure our carbon footprint, monitor energy consumption, and make
informed decisions that lead to meaningful change. We are currently developing comprehensive
Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for all our products, allowing us to understand their full
environmental impact from raw materials to end-of-life. From these assessments, we create
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which we share openly with our customers and
stakeholders to ensure complete transparency

As Isotalo points out:

“When we are discussing ESG, measuring always comes into the
conversation early. Data quality is crucial – we need to trust that the information is accurate so
we can make the right decisions and be transparent with our customers and stakeholders.”

Sustainability also means rethinking materials and processes. At our Lempäälä factory, we have
improved how we handle production scrap by partnering with suppliers who regrind and
regranulate materials for reuse. Today, we are able to include up to 20% recycled material in most
of our products without compromising quality. In addition, we have launched a pilot project to
manufacture enclosures from 100% recycled raw material, reducing CO2 emissions significantly
compared to virgin materials.

Setting Global Standards

With manufacturing sites in Europe and Asia, and a strong sales and service presence in North
America, Fibox delivers the same high-quality products and ESG standards worldwide. Whether a
customer purchases from our Lempäälä factory in Finland or our facility in Korea, they can trust
that the product meets the same expectations.

To ensure consistency, we are implementing a new group-wide management system, with the
goal of achieving ISO 9001 certification by the end of the year. This system will unify our quality
and ESG processes, creating clear structures for how we operate, measure, and improve across all
markets.

Building the Future of Sustainable Innovation

Sustainability is a continuous journey, and quality drives our progress. Our enclosures are
designed to last for decades, while we steadily increase the use of recycled materials and develop
partnerships that enable circular processes. We are reducing waste, improving energy efficiency,
and strengthening ESG data to support better decisions.

For Fibox, quality means creating products and processes that deliver value today while shaping a
more sustainable future for generations to come
