Twenty years of growth in Guangzhou

We came to Guangzhou with the dream of following our customers. Our greatest achievement over these twenty years is the capable local team and the globally competitive expertise we have built. This is the foundation for continuously attracting and serving new clients excellently.

From the beginning, everything has depended on people. We transferred know-how, equipment, and experienced colleagues from Finland to establish the first processes and build the capabilities that the local team has since taken to an entirely new level. Talented people in the right roles, who are motivated and eager to grow, create capabilities that no investment alone can achieve. With capabilities, we earn customer trust – without that trust, there is no business.

Guangzhou Fibox has developed from a small operation into a respected and competitive business. Among the many milestones reached, a few illustrate the scale of the journey:

• In 2014 we exceeded RMB 100 million (12,2 M€) in sales revenue.

• In 2017 we implemented the AX Dynamics ERP system.

• In 2018 we achieved sustained profitability.

• In 2019 capacity increased significantly with the installation of a 1,000-ton machine.

• In 2021 we reached a record RMB 143 million (17,4 M€) in sales.

• In 2022 Guangzhou Fibox was recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise.

• In 2023 we added 3D gasket capabilities, strengthening our technological edge

   

  These steps reflect continuous investment in people, technology, automation, and modern smart-factory practices – all aligned with customer needs.

  
  

During the anniversary event, we had the privilege of welcoming colleagues, customers, partners, and distinguished guests, including representatives from Fibox Group management and the Embassy of Finland. The celebration brought together many of those who have played a role in Guangzhou Fibox’s growth over the past twenty years.

In the afternoon, our guests toured the Guangzhou factory, where they saw advanced production equipment, rigorous quality control, and efficient operations in action. Many expressed strong appreciation for the plant’s high level of automation, lean management practices, and the professionalism of the local team.

Pasi Pietarinen, Vice President of Operations Asia, highlighted that since 2016 the Guangzhou operation has significantly expanded its machinery base, strengthened its talent, and steadily improved both capability and quality. Continuous development, he noted, remains central to meeting the expectations of demanding customers.

Marko Tiesmäki, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland, emphasized his positive impression of the site’s technical sophistication and management practices. He reaffirmed that focusing on capabilities, people, and customers is the right approach for achieving long-term success in China’s dynamic market.

The speeches were followed by a festive gala, during which the company formally recognized outstanding trade union committee members and employees with Long Service Awards, expressing gratitude for their dedication and commitment.

We extend our warmest thanks to our employees in Guangzhou, whose professionalism and dedication have made this journey possible. Their skills, teamwork, and motivation are the true drivers of our success.

We also thank our customers for their trust. Demanding expectations have pushed us to improve continually, and that partnership is the reason we stand on such a strong foundation today.
