When Nidhi Patel joined Fibox Inc. in 2023 as a Staff Accountant, she brought more than strong academic credentials. She brought determination shaped by experience and a steady commitment to continuous growth.
Her analytical way of working is no coincidence. It is grounded in her educational background – a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA in Finance, which have shaped how she approaches financial processes as interconnected systems rather than isolated tasks.
“My education has strongly influenced how I approach financial matters. I want to understand the bigger picture and make sure things are done carefully,” she explains.
For Nidhi, finance has always been more than technical execution. “Accuracy is really important to me. Reliable reporting builds trust throughout the organization.”
Her career has not been defined by rapid leaps, but by consistent progress built on discipline and dependable performance.
How it all began
Relocating to the United States marked a significant turning point, both professionally and personally. Entering a new labor market without prior local experience required patience and resilience. While pursuing opportunities in accounting, she worked in retail and administrative roles. Rather than seeing this period as a detour, she chose to view it as part of her journey.
“It wasn’t easy, but I learned a great deal and gained clarity about where I wanted my career to go,” she recalls.
These roles strengthened her adaptability and communication skills, while also giving her practical insight into working life in a new environment. There were moments of uncertainty, but her direction remained clear. Through persistence and continuous learning, she secured an Accountant position at SR Associates (CPA).
“That role gave me hands-on experience. It was where theory truly turned into real-world understanding,” Nidhi says. Supportive mentorship and broad exposure to core accounting responsibilities helped strengthen her professional confidence.
Building expertise at Fibox
At Fibox, Nidhi works in a small finance team where ownership and collaboration go hand in hand. She helps with month-end closing, ensures financial reporting is accurate, and keeps internal controls running smoothly.
“In a small team, responsibility is shared, but everyone has to own their part,” she notes.
In accounts payable, Nidhi makes sure payments are correct in situations where deliveries and freight invoices need careful checking. Going through invoices, confirming delivery details, and reconciling freight charges takes focus and a methodical approach.
“Payment accuracy depends on attention to detail and smooth cooperation across functions,” she explains.
Her approach is always calm and organized. “Controls aren’t obstacles – they’re ways to make sure things keep running well, now and in the future.”
In practice, this means that processes are followed carefully, even under tight timelines.
Driving process automation and improvement
One of Nidhi’s most significant contributions has been the transition of the U.S. accounts payable process from a manual approach to the Rillion AP automation platform. After system training, she assumed responsibility for defining workflows and approval structures aligned with business needs.
The project has required patience, problem-solving, and close collaboration.
“In projects like this, you quickly learn that not everything can be planned in advance. Solutions need to be developed together along the way,” she reflects.
As the implementation nears completion, her focus is on ensuring a stable transition and organizational readiness.
“The most important thing is that people feel ownership of the new way of working. Only then does change truly succeed,” she adds.
The project has strengthened both her system expertise and her confidence in leading structural improvements. It also reflects her mindset: development should be thoughtful, sustainable, and closely connected to practical daily work.
Continuous development and future direction
Professionally, Nidhi is focused on deepening her expertise in financial reporting and month-end processes while continuing to enhance efficiency and internal controls. She approaches growth with openness and without self-imposed limits.
“I don’t want to restrict my professional journey. I’m always looking for opportunities to take on more responsibility,” she says.
Outside of work, family provides balance and perspective. Travel and shared experiences offer a meaningful counterweight to the structured nature of financial management.
“Discipline and clarity in my work help me stay genuinely present both in my career and in my personal life,” she reflects.
