Career Story from Germany: Journey from Data Support to a key role in Sales

Dennis Schrepfer joined Fibox GmbH nearly ten years ago, shortly after completing his commercial education. His journey began with basic support tasks such as organizing technical data sheets and archiving materials. Although his start was modest, Dennis’s proactive attitude and curiosity soon opened new doors. He gradually took on more responsibility in customer service and internal sales, eventually stepping into his current role as Area Sales Manager for Northern Germany at the end of 2023.

It all started with the idea of using my spare time for something meaningful. Soon I was supporting the customer service team and handling orders. From there, my path led to field sales and now I’m in a position that constantly challenges and develops me, Dennis recalls.

Building trust through personal connections

Dennis's daily work is largely focused on field sales, which gives him the chance to meet customers face to face and develop strong, long-term relationships. For him, sales is not just about products – it’s about understanding people, solving their problems and building trust through consistency and reliability.

I enjoy being close to the customer, understanding their needs, and working together to find the best solution. For me, sales is all about people.

He also emphasizes the importance of product knowledge and continuous learning. Over the years, Dennis has taken a deep interest in Fibox’s enclosure solutions and strives to combine technical expertise with excellent service.

A strong team and collaborative culture

Dennis is a key member of a well-organized network that includes approximately 75 colleagues in Germany, supported by a sales team of seven covering regions such as Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands, along with six inside sales/ customer service colleagues. Standard components produced in Finland are customized into tailored enclosures at the assembly plant in Germany, requiring seamless cooperation with the Finnish team.

A little over a year ago, the team in Germany implemented HubSpot CRM to facilitate smooth communication and coordination. Although adopting the system required effort, comprehensive training and strong leadership support have enabled the team to fully embrace it.

I use HubSpot extensively to share information with colleagues. When I’m on holiday, they can easily back me up because all the necessary data is there. It’s all about inputting good information – if the data is right, everything runs smoothly. It’s my first CRM, and I’m learning step by step.

Dennis values also the trust and encouragement from his manager, which inspires the team to grow professionally and confidently achieve their goals.

Life beyond work

Dennis maintains balance through an active lifestyle and meaningful relationships. He plays football in a club and enjoys boxing with friends, which help him unwind and stay energized. Much of his free time is dedicated to family, friends and his girlfriend.

I don’t follow strict routines – it’s the combination of sports, time with loved ones and experiencing new things that keeps me energized.

Traveling is a big part of his life. Together with his girlfriend, he enjoys discovering new cultures, often exploring Europe by van – with favorite destinations including Greece, Croatia, Austria and the Netherlands. Their most recent trip was to South Africa in June.

His personal goals center on learning, growing and deepening his expertise. Dennis enjoys working with people, being involved in projects, and continuously developing both personally and professionally.

Looking back, Dennis sees Fibox not just as an employer, but as a place that has offered real opportunities to grow, evolve and contribute to something meaningful. He appreciates the trust he has received from colleagues and managers throughout his career and values the flexibility and responsibility that come with his current role.
