Fibox has published its first ever VSME sustainability report, marking an important milestone in the company’s sustainability journey. For the first time, Fibox has brought its sustainability data and activities together in a single report, while providing a clear overview of how sustainability is governed across the company.
The reporting process involved teams across all Fibox’s locations and functions, covering nearly 100 quantitative and qualitative data points. While some areas, such as greenhouse gas data, were already well established, other information had to be collected and consolidated for the first time.
According to Jonas Rorarius, Global ESG Manager at Fibox, one of the biggest benefits of the process was gaining a clearer understanding of the company’s current ESG position: “Now we know where the gaps are and it's easier for us to improve going forward.”
The process also highlighted the diversity of Fibox’s operations. While common policies and governance structures are in place, data availability and practices vary between locations. Bringing this information together has given Fibox a more complete view of its sustainability work and helped identify areas where further improvements are needed.
The findings from the reporting process have already contributed to Fibox’s sustainability strategy and roadmap. The information is also being used in other communications, including the company’s sustainability website and brochure.
Most importantly, the first report establishes a baseline. Future reports can build on this foundation and focus increasingly on progress, targets and measurable improvements.
Fibox plans to continue publishing its sustainability report annually, while using the data internally to monitor key performance indicators and support more systematic sustainability management. The first report describes where Fibox stands at today – future reports will show how the company progresses from here.
